On my way into work this morning, it was a dreary day, but the sky was lighting up in front of me.\u00a0 As traffic was light, I grabbed my GX1 with one hand and just rested it on the dash.\u00a0 I rolled the aperture to its smallest, waited for an overpass and ‘click’\u00a0 – I got exactly what I was after on the very first try.\u00a0 Plopped the camera back in the bag next to me and continued on.<\/p>\n

I don’t recommend shooting while driving, for the record, and I very, very rarely do it, but the conditions this morning seemed just right, and I didn’t need to concentrate on the shooting much, as I just had my ultra-wide on and I was able to crop to the framing I wanted in post, rather than concentrate on exact composition and distract my eyes from the road.\u00a0 In fact, I didn’t even need to take my eyes off the road.\u00a0 Ultimately, it worked out and I got the shot I was after….a record of my morning commute.\u00a0 (click to enlarge):<\/p>\n
