This is part 2 of my travel diary and photos from my trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico. \u00a0In part 1<\/a>, I went into the Ojito Wilderness to try and capture some of the raw landscape in New Mexico. \u00a0Today, I will share a few images from Albuquerque’s Old Town. \u00a0The Old Town in Albuquerque is relatively small, but has a very cozy atmosphere that is really inviting. \u00a0Even though it is primarily restaurants and shopping areas now, it’s a great preservation of the old Southwest. \u00a0There is almost the feeling of having traveled to a different country.<\/p>\n

I had a lovely dinner at the Church Street Cafe before heading out to take a few shots around the few blocks of the old town. \u00a0The primary attraction is the San Filipe De Neri church, which was built in 1706 and has been in continuous use since then. \u00a0The church is in fantastic shape. \u00a0While the inside is not the most exciting thing from a photographic point of view, it’s moderately interesting due to its slightly slanted construction. \u00a0The exterior is quite striking and has a lovely courtyard.<\/p>\n

While the old town is a quick visit for photography, and a slightly longer one if you would like some nice local dining fare or homemade crafts, it’s a worthy place to visit and gives a small glimpse into the old Southwest.<\/p>\n
