{"id":5712,"date":"2015-10-22T15:51:04","date_gmt":"2015-10-22T20:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/admiringlight.com\/blog\/?p=5712"},"modified":"2024-09-05T16:58:23","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T21:58:23","slug":"hands-on-mitakon-booth-135mm-f1-4-35mm-f0-95-25mm-f0-95","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/admiringlight.com\/blog\/hands-on-mitakon-booth-135mm-f1-4-35mm-f0-95-25mm-f0-95\/","title":{"rendered":"Hands-On: Mitakon Booth: 135mm f\/1.4, 35mm f\/0.95, 25mm f\/0.95"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I happend upon the Mitakon booth on my way out of PhotoPlus for the day, and saw the newly announced limited edition 135mm f\/1.4, and just had to stop. &nbsp;Along the way, I tried out two other new ultra-fast prime lenses for E-mount and Micro 4\/3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mitakon 135mm f\/1.4<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This lens, the fastest 135mm available, was just announced a few days ago. &nbsp;It&#8217;s ridiculously huge, as one might expect from an extreme aperture telephoto lens. &nbsp;Mitakon had the lens mounted on a tripod as well as another copy for closer inspection. &nbsp;The lens is a big hunk of metal and glass and has smoothly turning aperture and focus rings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/admiringlight.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/mitakon_135.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"http:\/\/admiringlight.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/mitakon_135.jpg\" alt=\"The giant Mitakon 135mm f\/1.4\" class=\"wp-image-5714\" srcset=\"https:\/\/admiringlight.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/mitakon_135.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/admiringlight.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/mitakon_135-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/admiringlight.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/mitakon_135-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The giant Mitakon 135mm f\/1.4 (Photo taken with the Mitakon 35mm f\/0.95 for E-Mount)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ergonomically, it&#8217;s a challenge, as the focus ring is part of the enormous outer barrel. &nbsp;My hands are not accustomed to focusing such a large ring, and it made it quite difficult to turn easily simply because of the size.
