We’re three months into 2019, and I usually post my Favorite Photos of the Year in late December or early January, but I missed it this year.  Still, I’ve done a collection of my favorite photos of the year each year since I founded this site in 2012, and I didn’t want to miss is for 2018.  Each year I go back through my images and pick a selection of my favorite photos from the year as a way to look back at my work and evaluate where I can improve, and what went well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like any creative pursuit, photography can be an activity that has ebbs and flows creatively, with some stretches yielding outstanding output, while at other times, the creativity and execution may be lacking a bit.  While I think I got some very nice shots in 2018, I don’t think it was one of my better years of photography from a quality standpoint, at least in comparison to other recent years.  It was fine, but I found I got into a bit of a rut creatively at times: a rut I’m still sort of working my way out of.  This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this way, and each time, you just need to keep shooting and work your way out of it.  Anyway, below are a selection of 15 of my favorite images from the year.  They may not be my absolute best work, but these are the ones I liked the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
