This is going to be a quick post, but I wanted to share a little experiment I did this evening. My wife had ordered some Jeni’s ice cream in the mail, which ships in a cooler with a block of dry ice to keep it cold during transport, and so I did what anyone would do…dump it in some water and take pictures of the fog. Ok, maybe it’s just me who would do that. I snagged my tabletop light stand, popped my Godox V1 off to the side for dramatic side lighting, dropped a sizeable chunk of dry ice into a bowl (as seen below) and took shots looking straight down into the bowl to capture a wide variety of abstract swirling shapes in the fog. I added a hint of color in post, based on how a particular image felt to me, and the results are below. Quick, easy and I ended up quite pleased with the final result.
A lot of nostalgia. This was my first body as well. Used with Tamron 17-50 🙂
