In early June, I had the opportunity to head back to Europe for the first time in quite a while (nearly 9 years). My family and I went on a two week trip through Italy. It had been nearly 20 years since I’d last been to Italy, and so I was excited to get back. While the purpose of the trip was not really about photography, of course I took plenty of photos. With that said, the family schedule along with the very early sunrise and late sunset made shooting in good light a very rare opportunity.
I brought along my Nikon Zf with the Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S, the Z 24-120mm f/4 S and the little 40mm f/2 SE. I also brought my Fujifilm X100VI, but only really used it on one day in Venice.
Our trip began in Venice, which I had never visited before. After several days in Venice, we took a train to Florence, then later to Rome, and finally we stopped in Sorrento, with a visit to Pompeii. In all, it was a great trip, and I came away with quite a lot of photos, which I’ll share below. Click on any image to enlarge. Enjoy!
