A Trip to Guatemala

Posted on October 20, 2018October 20, 2018 by Jordan Steele

I recently returned from a trip to Guatemala, where my brother-in-law was getting married and having a destination wedding.  We brought the whole family along and spent 5 days in Antigua Guatemala, a historic city with wonderful architecture, loads of ruins from the earthquakes that rocked the area over the centuries, and friendly people.  As the primary purpose of the trip was not photography, I wanted to travel very light.  Instead of bringing a full camera kit with me, I went armed with just the new Fujifilm XF10…a very small APS-C compact camera.  Watch for my review of that camera soon.

We stayed at the amazing Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, which is built on the ruins of a monastery, and contains multiple museums inside the hotel grounds.  We toured a lot of the sights, enjoyed the local food, had a lovely evening out with the guys prior to the wedding, sampling local beers.  In all, it was a wonderful trip.  Here is a selection of photos from the visit:
