Blossoms in the City

Blossoms in the City

Continuing to try out the effect I detailed in yesterday’s post, I saw the trees in bloom today and tried it out again.  This is a 64 image stitch with my GH2 and Rokinon 85mm f/1.4.  The resulting image was 465 megapixels.  In the full image, you can see each individual blossom in full detail.  The resulting extreme depth of field difference from the stitch gives a look that really can’t be achieved with a single lens.

This image has the field of view and depth of field equivalent to a 32mm f/0.5 lens on a full frame DSLR.  Obviously, no such lens exists, so this technique is one of the few ways to achieve such a look.
