Alone in the Great Cathedral

Posted on September 16, 2014 by Jordan Steele

Just a quick post with one of my favorite personal pictures from yesterday here in Cologne.  On the way back to my hotel, I popped my head in the giant Cologne Cathedral, which I have visited several times in my life, but I’d never been inside at night.  I managed to snag this capture.  I am really happy with this image.  (Now off to day 1 of Photokina!)

It certainly works for me, I imagine your term snagged it means that it was an opportunity that you were lucky to get, it was not set up in any way.
Whatever, I think it just works in every way.

That’s an impressive cathedral. I live close to Cologne and visit it from time to time. If you happen to get to Aachen (1h train drive), they have a very impressive cathedral (Aachener Dom), too! Worth a visit, since it is special and unusual in it’s style.

Very, very noce picture, and very nice rendering from XF35… Maybe one of the nicest photos in tour site!

I am still thinking of exchanging it with newest f/2 WR, but only because of loud/slow/hunting autofocus.
