It’s been a crazy week at work, so very little time to write the past week or so. I’m working on my Olympus 17mm f/1.8 review, which I hope to have up this weekend. In the meantime, I stopped for about 15 minutes to shoot on the way home from work yesterday (at 11 PM)….
Spilled Sky
Took a quick walk out and about for a few pics. Out near the river, this lovely mud puddle was in the perfect position to reflect the Ohio Supreme Court…I thought it looked like the sky was spilling out on to the concrete.
15 Minute Street Shooting
I had a meeting downtown just after lunch today, so I shortened my eating time by about 15 minutes to allow that time on my lunch break for shooting. I parked where my meeting was and then walked around just in the 2-3 block area right around for a little while, grabbing only my Fuji…
Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3
After a quite long two-year wait, Panasonic has updated their flagship Micro 4/3 camera, and they’ve upgraded almost every single item on the camera. This fall, the new DMC-GH3 was announced and cameras first started becoming available a few months ago. Panasonic is positioning the GH3 as the ultimate top end Micro 4/3 body, with…
Little Building, Big City
Every once in a while, I’ll see a subject, and I will instantly know the type of shot I want to make. Sometimes, I’ll take some shots and get it right away…other times, the light isn’t right, or you don’t quite know how you want to go about capturing it. This is one of those…
Mirrorless Battle: OM-D vs GH3 vs X-E1
This should be a fun comparison. I have the pleasure of having three of the best mirrorless cameras around in my possession right now: a newly acquired Fuji X-E1 with 35mm f/1.4, my trusty Olympus OM-D E-M5 and the Panasonic GH3, fresh into my hands for review. Expect full reviews of the Fuji X-E1 and Panasonic…
Review: Olympus 15mm f/8 Body Cap Lens
This past fall, Olympus announced a rather interesting lens…the smallest lens yet for the Micro 4/3 system, and one of the smallest interchangeable lenses ever made. This optic? The 15mm f/8 body cap lens. This tiny lens/body cap is classified by Olympus as an “accessory” rather than a true lens, and the lens doesn’t carry…
A Window to Life
I’ve not had much time to shoot the past week or two, so I forced myself to find something to shoot right when I got home. Looked around my yard and driveway for a moment, and found this little clover struggling to find a foothold on some detritus smashed into the manhole cover in my…
